Introduction to Rimfire Bench-rest

Sunday December 8^th we will be holding a MEMBERS ONLY .22 LR rimfire event in  indoor range 1. This event is designed to be an introduction to rimfire bench rest shooting. Any .22 LR rifle with a scope will work fine for this event. Front rests will be allowed as will rear rests. Scopes of any power are allowed. No one piece rests are allowed. Bring at least 100 rounds of standard velocity ammo CCI standard velocity or Aguila standard velocity these are both good choices.

We can accommodate 6 shooters per relay, targets will be standard 50 ft. NRA gallery targets. We will be shooting these targets at 75 feet.  There is a sighter target in the middle and 10 single targets, we will be shooting 5 shots on each of the single targets.  The number of sight shots will be unlimited, time allowed for sighting will be 10 minutes, you will be allowed a total of thirty minutes for your 50 shots for score.

We will have a limited amount of equipment we can loan for those who don’t have rests or bipods.

For those new to bench-rest we will provide instruction on the fundamentals of bench-rest shooting.

Start time is 10:00 AM, registration and setup start at 9:00 AM, cost is $5:00 per shooter, juniors shoot for free. There will be a prize for the winner of each relay, ties will be resolved in a shoot off, of the match director’s choice.

So, dust off that old .22 and come on down and give bench rest a try.
